About US

Communicating love in meaningful ways is at the heart of everything we do at United Methodist Communications.

We are truth seekers and storytellers who use the power of communication to equip the global church to enhance ministry and reflect the church to the world.

We help local churches thrive through training, coaching and marketing outreach resources.

Our online presence includes:

  • UMC.org: Connecting United Methodists with stories of how fellow members are living out their faith, along with resources about our beliefs and history
  • ResourceUMC.org: Providing United Methodist leaders with access to resources and content for United Methodist churches
  • RethinkChurch.org: Offering a space for invitation and outreach for The United Methodist Church
  • UMNews.org: Delivering the who, what, when, where, why and how of the latest happenings in the denomination.
  • Social media for The United Methodist Church

We provide support to the Central Conferences including establishing internet connectivity to African episcopal offices, facilitation and support of The United Methodist Radio network and advertising.

We distribute content in five languages: English, French, Spanish, Korean and Portuguese.

Through Connectional Giving, we develop and distribute stewardship resources.

Through UM Connect, our group texting system, we assist with messages of peace during times of unrest and provide needed information when communities are faced with health or disaster crises.

We invite new people into the church through our national advertising efforts. And, we regularly conduct research to better understand how to serve the church.

We do all this and more in a spirit of collaboration with our sister agencies in our combined mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

E-store statement regarding profit:

Communications touches every ministry of the church across the world. Because United Methodist Communications is facing deep budget cuts that are significantly more than all other church agencies, we must rely on new sources of funding. We apply these funds directly to our many ministries in order to continue our support of church growth and outreach.
